Sustainability is a central part of our business practices – both throughout the entire production process at Junkers & Müllers and in the development and manufacturing of our products.

Our Responsibility

PRODUction

Through continuous investments in our machinery and equipment, we use technologies that reduce energy consumption in our production processes and the associated CO₂ emissions. Our innovative exhaust air treatment system minimises harmful emissions. In our production processes, we do not use formaldehyde, chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), solvents, or compounds containing lead, cadmium or mercury.

PRoductS

All Junkers & Müllers products are PVC-free. A large proportion of our product range is certified according to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100, Product Class IV. In addition, we take into account the applicable requirements of the REACH Regulation for our products.

Materials

Material selection is an important part of our product development process. We evaluate the use of different material solutions, including recycled materials, while taking into account the respective technical, functional and quality requirements.

  • OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100

    Selected textiles from Junkers & Müllers are certified to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100.

    STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is an independent testing and certification system for textiles and textile components. Certified products are tested for harmful substances in accordance with OEKO-TEX® requirements. The testing process covers every component of a product and is based on defined limit values and testing criteria.

  • electric mobility

    As part of the German Recovery and Resilience Plan (DARP), Junkers & Müllers received funding from the European Union – NextGenerationEU to support the expansion of electric mobility.

    Junkers & Müllers operates an energy management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 50001. As part of our energy management activities, we monitor and analyze energy consumption and implement measures to improve energy efficiency.

    These activities include:

    • Measuring and monitoring energy consumption

    • Continuously tracking energy flows

    • Reviewing the energy efficiency of processes and activities

    • Using systems to collect and evaluate energy data

    • Analyzing the energy consumption of our production facilities

    • Planning and implementing energy efficiency measures

    • Regularly analyzing and evaluating the measures implemented

    Our energy management system covers the relevant areas of the company, activities, and processes within the scope of our certified energy management system.

  • BRAMIN conCept

    Using a BRAMIDAN baler, we compact recyclable materials directly at our site. This allows the materials to be collected in a compact form and prepared for further waste handling and collection.

  • REACh

    The REACH Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 governs the handling of chemical substances within the European Union. It sets out requirements for the registration, evaluation, authorisation and restriction of chemicals.

    Junkers & Müllers complies with the REACH requirements applicable to our products and activities. This also includes communicating information on substances of very high concern (SVHCs) included in the REACH Candidate List, where required by law.

  • recycled content

    For selected textile base fabrics, Junkers & Müllers uses materials with a high proportion of recycled polyester. Where specified, these products contain at least 80% recycled post-consumer polyester.*

    Depending on the product, approximately 3–4 recycled 1.5-litre PET bottles are used to produce one square metre of our upcycled material.*

    The recycled content of selected textiles is independently verified and certified by SCS Global Services under its Recycled Content Certification programme. The certification confirms the verified percentage of pre- and/or post-consumer recycled material contained in each certified product.
